THE DREAM The following are short summaries of dream which all contain 'distress'. I have tried best to isolate the symbolic meaning of 'distress' in each dream.

A dream where the dreamer was not distressed but was concerned linked to her thinking about her life. She had moved to another country and was in the process of buying a house 'back home' because she was not really settling well. She was looking deeply at her priorities. Her husband did not want to move back so it was not an easy situation. Being concerned but not distressed in this dream was really just her assessment of her state of mind.

An extremely distressing dream was linked to the dreamer watching TV coverage of Hurricane Katrina. This was extremely disturbing especially as this was not some third world country - rather it was happening to Americans like herself.

A dream where the girlfriend was in distress linked to him having a complicated relationship with his ex girlfriend. She got very angry with him when he got another girlfriend but she just went ahead and got a new boyfriend and never said anything.
