THE DREAM The following are short summaries of dream which all contain 'suburbs'. I have tried best to isolate the symbolic meaning of 'suburbs' in each dream.

A suburb dream linked to the dreamer being given greater privileges at work. He knew that he was been given advantages - whereas others were being restricted. Suburbs were symbolic of the dreamer being much more middle class in his attitude and now being treated advantageously.

A suburban dream linked to the dreamer realising that he pretended to be tolerant. But in fact could not stand gay people. Suburban was symbolic of people who like to pretend to be open minded but can actually harbour strong prejudices.

A semi detached house dream linked to the dreamer wanting to enjoy his hobby of photography much more. The semi detached suburban house symbolised him wanting to enjoy his pleasure time and cut himself off from the world of work. People in the suburbs live a much more secluded lifestyle and can find time to concentrate on hobbies and face much fewer distractions.

A dream about leaving the suburbs to go to the city linked to the dreamer starting to mix with other people who knew lots. Before he was a big fish in a little pond - now he was meeting lots of people some of which knew so much more than him.
